William Newton Hospital welcomes first baby

The first baby born in 2019 at the William Newton Family Birthing Center was delivered at 3:58 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2 in Winfield, Kansas.

Dynum Lane Fewox, son of Melissa Caldwell, weighed seven pounds ten ounces and was 20 inches long.

Baby Fewox was delivered by Dr. Douglas Moore, DO, of Sunflower OB-GYN.

Of her newborn Caldwell says Dynum, pronounced like “denim,” is “mommy’s bundle of joy.” The family currently resides in Winfield.

The William Newton Family Birthing Center is equipped with seven private rooms and two birthing suites. In 2018, William Newton Hospital welcomed 261 newborns to its nursery.
