WNH CEO Search Underway

On October 7, William Newton Hospital’s board of trustees began taking applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer following Ben Quinton’s resignation effective September 30. To date, 42 applications have been received. The board intends to close the application process on October 21.

Joan Cales, who serves as chair for the five-member volunteer board, indicated that resumes for all qualified candidates are currently being reviewed by each board member. The next regular board meeting is scheduled for October 27, and Cales says the board plans to narrow down the candidates and determine the next steps at that time.

The board is utilizing the most current compensation and benefit survey published by the Kansas Hospital Association to benchmark the wage scale for the CEO position.
